It's de nitely nice to have over 100 family-friendly outings laid out in one place, not to mention the fact that the entries are also cross- referenced by interest (think airplanes, sand play and stargazing, for example), optimal age range and location." --Nicole Basham, LiveMom.com"If I had a time machine, I'd return to my early parenting days just to have the chance to use this fun, far-reaching and exceedingly helpful guide to Austin!" --Liz Garton Scanlon, award-winning author of Caldecott Honor book All the World"Exploring Austin with Kids is a go-to resource for parents who want to have family fun in Austin. Annette Lucksinger has clearly done her research, and provides a great service with this well-organized, comprehensive guide to kid-friendly fun in Austin." -- Jill Coody Smits, author of Expedition Austin: A Kid's Guide to the Weirdest Town in Texas"Exploring Austin with Kids is just plain fun!" --Ryan Spencer, Director, Children in Nature Collaborative of Austin (CINCA)"I'm at that awkward stage of parenthood, with my children old enough to make and act on their own plans but with no grandkids just yet. Exploring Austin reminded me of places and activities I loved sharing with my kids when they were younger. Usefully organized from several perspectives, this is the guide I so often wished my family had, will happily recommend to ATX parents and out-of-towners alike, and expect to get plenty of use of myself." --Chris Barton, author of New York Times bestselling Shark vs. Train, Whoosh!, The Amazing Age of John Roy Lynch and other children's books

Reared my children here and researched like crazy to find all the wonderful things for kids and families to do in Austin. BUT now that time has passed, my granddaughter is here, and my clever daughter-in-law found this book, I got one for me, too. It's much easier to use even than the local calendar put out here with events listed.I'll use it for all three grandchildren!! Thank you, Ms. Lucksinger! You have really done your research! Bravo!!!!
I gave as a gift to a mommy friend who was moving to Austin. She says she loves it and has helped her get out with her son and adapt to her new life in Austin, Texas.
Great book! Our family is new to the area and we don't know too much to do. The book gives you great options of things to by age (even baby friendly outings), interest and location. It also lists free things to do as well as annual events. Can't wait to discover more of this city with kids!
Looking forward to trying the exciting things to do in Austin with my kids!
Bought this for a friend that was moving to the area. She loved it
Gave as a gift....the mom was excited to get it.
I picked this book up at the Austin Mini Maker fair this past weekend. What an excellent resource! We are always looking for new places to take our child. Even though we've lived in Austin for over 20 years, this book introduced us to entire other dimensions of fun that exist here. Lots of people talk about Austin being one of the best places to be single in the USA, but this book is proof-positive that it's also a great place to raise a family.
What a wonderful book to have on hand for when the kids say I'm BORED or for visiting out of town guests with kids ! I hear a new edition is in the works! I need to buy more copies because people keep borrowing mine!
