When I first started reading, I was a little worried because of some similarities to other YA novels. However, I found it interesting enough to keep reading and I’m SO glad that I did. I ended up finishing this book in a day because I couldn’t put it down (or if I had to, I schemed to figure out a way to pick it back up again).Even though some of the plot elements feel similar to other novels and there are some YA tropes, this book truly manages to differentiate itself from the very beginning. Every time I thought I could guess where the plot was going next, I was wrong. The author subverted many of my expectations through the inclusion of some unexpected scenes. Training of the chosen one is usually glossed over, however Ruby’s training (and her struggles with it) is actually one of the best parts of this book. There was an excellent balance of action and quieter scenes and, while I was left with some questions, the world-building was done quite well.*One note, this book started off rather shockingly and there are some somewhat graphic scenes later on.The characterization of both the main characters and the secondary ones is wonderful. Ruby is feisty, sassy, and has a will of iron. We spent a good deal of time with Ruby as she struggled with her training, her emotions, and her past. Seeing what she went through and showing the reader her flaws made me truly care for her. She’s flawed and we can see how she grapples with some of her decisions, particularly some of the darker ones. In this book, characters do have to face the consequences of their actions, something that I personally quite like in a book.Plus that romance! It’s a hate-to-love romance and it built very naturally, the progression fitting with the both of the characters’ personalities. Arcus has demons and scars of his own and the original barriers between the two of them were quite understandable. What this book does very well is showing how the walls between them start to come down. I loved that they both had to face their own fears and prejudices (and mature quite a bit) as their relationship progressed. This book was utterly captivating, enchanting, and engrossing. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys YA high fantasy or potentially high fantasy in general (while it is YA, the characters are on the more mature side). I’m already anxiously awaiting the next book in this series.*I received a free eARC from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

A fascinating world, an intriguing prophecy, and awesome and deadly powers are just a few of the things that make FROSTBLOOD a thrilling and riveting one-sit read. Add in a curse, a quest for vengeance, epic clashes between fire and ice, gladiator-esque arena battles, dark forces, secrets, betrayal, tragedy, and a bit of romance, and you have a story that is unputdownable.Ruby is a Fireblood living in a world where who she is could get her imprisoned or killed. Frostbloods fear and hate her kind and the Frostblood King uses Firebloods for sport. Born without the fiery red hair that would immediately identify her as an enemy, all she had to do was suppress her abilities and she could escape notice. But her curiosity about her powers and her carelessness in concealing them meant discovery was inevitable. She just never imagined her mistakes would cost her the one person in the world that she loved.Ruby was prepared to accept her fate - a quick death by the hand of the King or a slow death in prison. But when offered the chance to escape, to avenge her loss, and to attempt to take down the Frostbloods' dark ruler, she accepted. Even if the chance of success was slim and even if it meant working with her enemies to do so. Because even if they ultimately failed, the alliance would help her master her fiery powers and help keep alive the flames of rage that burned in her heart.Elly Blake penned an amazing start to her series. She gave readers a heroine who is powerful, flawed, interesting, and sympathetic. She created a world steeped it in myth, with a captivating and exciting history, filled it with citizens whose abilities are polar opposites, a bevy of exotic creatures, and a ruler whose cruelty knows no bounds, and set it at a time when battles to the death were entertainment, when prophecies and legends were more than just stories, and when being a ruler corrupted or killed.FROSTBLOOD is a standout in a genre brimming with tales of evil rulers, dark magic, incredible abilities, and clashing clans. It reveals a past that is every bit as engaging as the story’s present. It introduces characters to root for. It builds a strong foundation for the story’s continuation in books to come. It leaves readers in anticipation of what’s next without leaving them dangling off a cliff. And it does all this in a way that makes for an enthralling and heartbreaking and absolutely extraordinary read.

The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, by Daniel James Brown

Review

“For those who like adventure stories straight-up, THE BOYS IN THE BOAT… is this year’s closest approximation of Unbroken….It’s about the University of Washington’s crew team: “Nine working-class boys from the American West who at the 1936 Olympics showed the world what true grit really meant.” —New York Times“If you imagined a great regatta of books about rowing, then Brown’s BOYS IN THE BOAT certainly makes the final heat….”—Boston Globe“The astonishing story of the UW’s 1936 eight-oar varsity crew and its rise from obscurity to fame,…The individual stories of these young men are almost as compelling as the rise of the team itself. Brown excels at weaving those stories with the larger narrative, all culminating in the 1936 Olympic Games…A story this breathtaking demands an equally compelling author, and Brown does not disappoint. The narrative rises inexorably, with the final 50 pages blurring by with white-knuckled suspense as these all-American underdogs pull off the unimaginable.”—The Seattle Times“Cogent history…, and a surprisingly suspenseful tale of triumph.”—USA Today“This riveting tale of beating the odds (and the Germans) at the 1936 Olympics is a rousing story of American can-do-ism. It’s also a portrait of the nine boys who first rowed together for the University of Washington, and of the one in particular who made the sport his family and his home.” —Parade“This riveting and inspiring saga evokes that of Seabiscuit…Readers need neither background nor interest in competitive rowing to be captivated by this remarkable and beautifully crafted history. Written with the drama of a compelling novel, it's a quintessentially American story that burnishes the esteem in which we embrace what has come to be known as the Greatest Generation.”—Associated Press“A stirring tale of nine Depression-era athletes beating the odds and their inner demons to compete at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. You can Google the result and spoil the sport, but that won’t dull the many pleasures in Daniel James Brown’s colorful, highly readable celebration of a grueling collegiate challenge.”—Bloomberg News“Brown’s book juxtaposes the coming together of the Washington crew team against the Nazis’ preparations for the Games, weaving together a history that feels both intimately personal and weighty in its larger historical implications. This book has already been bought for cinematic development, and it’s easy to see why: When Brown, a Seattle-based nonfiction writer, describes a race, you feel the splash as the oars slice the water, the burning in the young men’s muscles and the incredible drive that propelled these rowers to glory.” —Smithsonian Magazine   “Those who enjoy reading about Olympic history or amateur or collegiate sports will savor Brown’s superb book…”—Library Journal (Starred)  “[Brown] offers a vivid picture of the socioeconomic landscape of 1930s America (brutal), the relentlessly demanding effort required of an Olympic-level rower, the exquisite brainpower and materials that go into making a first-rate boat, and the wiles of a coach who somehow found a way to, first beat archrival University of California, then conquer a national field of qualifiers, and finally, defeat the best rowing teams in the world. A book that informs as it inspires.”—Booklist (Starred)“An evocative, cinematic prose… [Brown] makes his heroes’ struggle as fascinating as the best Olympic sagas.”—Publishers Weekly“The story deserves a more visible place in history, and Brown has brought it to light in a way that will appeal to readers regardless of their knowledge of our interest in rowing or wooden boats.  It’s a story about universal human values: striving for excellence and the triumph of teamwork.”—WoodenBoat Magazine“Every sport needs its laureate. With THE BOYS IN THE BOAT, crew has found its voice in Daniel James Brown, who tells a thrilling, heart-thumping tale of a most remarkable band of rowing brothers who upstaged Adolf Hitler at the 1936 Olympics.  Well-told history, packed with suspense and a likable bunch of underdogs at the heart of an improbable triumph.”—Timothy Egan, author of The Worst Hard Time“For years I’ve stared and wondered about the old wooden boat resting on the top rack of the UW boathouse. I knew the names of the men that rowed it but never really knew who they were. After reading this book, I feel like I got to relive their journey and witness what it was truly like earning a seat in that Pocock shell. The passion and determination showed by Joe and the rest of the boys in the boat are what every rower aspires to. I will never look at that wooden boat the same again.”—Mary Whipple, Olympic gold medal–winning coxswain, women’s eight-oared crew, 2008 and 2012“THE BOYS IN THE BOAT is not only a great and inspiring true story; it is a fascinating work of history.”—Nathaniel Philbrick, author of Mayflower and In the Heart of the Sea“In 1936 nine working-class American boys burst from their small towns into the international limelight, unexpectedly wiping the smile off Adolph Hitler’s face by beating his vaunted German team to capture the Olympic gold medal.  Daniel James Brown has written a robust, emotional snapshot of an era, a book you will recommend to your best friends.”—James Bradley, author of Flags of our Fathers and Flyboys“THE BOYS IN THE BOAT is an exciting blend of history and Olympic sport. I was drawn in as much by the personal stories as I was by the Olympic glory. A must read for anyone looking to be inspired!”—Luke Mcgee, USA Rowing Men’s National Team Coach“I really can’t rave enough about this book.  Daniel James Brown has not only captured the hearts and souls of the University of Washington rowers who raced in the 1936 Olympics, he has conjured up an era of history.  Brown’s evocation of Seattle in the Depression years is dazzling, his limning of character, especially the hardscrabble hero Joe Rantz, is novelistic, his narration of the boat races and the sinister-exalted atmosphere of Berlin in 1936 is cinematic.  I read the last fifty pages with white knuckles, and the last twenty-five with tears in my eyes.  History, sports, human interest, weather, suspense, design, physics, oppression and inspiration—THE BOYS IN THE BOAT has it all and Brown does full justice to his terrific material.  This is Chariots of Fire with oars.”—David Laskin, author of The Children’s Blizzard  and  The Long Way Home“A lovingly crafted saga of sweat and idealism that raised goosebumps from the first page. I was enthralled by the story’s play of light and shadow, of mortality and immortality, and its multidimensional recreation of the pursuit of excellence. This meditation on human frailty and possibility sneaks up on you until it rushes past with the speed of an eight-oared boat.” —Laurence Bergreen, author of Columbus and Over the Edge of the World“Daniel Brown’s book tells the dramatic story of the crew that set the stage for Seattle emerging as a world-class city. Their lives define the tradition that is still University of Washington rowing today.”—Bob Ernst, director of rowing, University of Washington

What a great story!. Fans of "Seabiscuit" will appreciate the similar style in how the story weaves in the history occurring in the country at the time. Naturally, it is always fun to watch the west coast upstarts take on the eastern elite. A plus for me was the detailed explanation of the sport that I had very little knowledge of and now that our area (west central Florida) is becoming a bit of a hotbed for the sport, I will enjoy it all the more thanks to this book. Great buy on the kindle but I still bought a couple of copies of the paperback for friends I thought would be interested.

Fantastic book about a very fascinating topic. Not only it is a look into what people were going through during the Depression, it shows the different way that training was viewed back in that day. My current position has me working with a number of college athletes, so I recognize the amount of time and effort today's athletes put into their training and playing on top of the academic requirements placed on them. Back in the day, it was at a whole different level. These coaches were all about working and then working harder and doing it again. There are a number training regiments which have come down through the decades, but a coach that kept his rowers out on the water in the middle of a driving sleet storm would probably get in trouble now days. This is on top of spending summers hanging on the side of a cliff to work at dam building. Again, these guys are just at a whole different level. Great read, great topic.

The prospect of reading a nonfiction book, particularly one based on history, appeals to me about as much as, say, taking the SAT again. Given the choice, I'll pick fiction every time. In addition, I have little interest in reading about sports or rowing. But reader recommendations and critics' reviews carry great weight with me, and "The Boys in the Boat" has some of the highest ratings I've ever seen, so I took a deep breath, and decided to read this book that I had originally intended as a gift. And wow, am I glad I did! This is one of the best books I've ever read.Daniel James Brown has beautifully crafted a nonfiction book with all the elements that make a great novel: gripping plot, unforgettable characters, dramatic conflict, and heart-pounding suspense. Injecting suspense into a story where the outcome is known is quite a trick, but Brown accomplishes it superlatively. We meet the nine boys as college freshmen at the University of Washington in 1933. In the middle of the Great Depression, most of them are valiantly trying to stay afloat financially in order to stay in school. None had ever rowed anything larger than a rowboat; the main incentive in trying out for crew was the possibility of a part-time campus job if they made the team - no athletic scholarships here. The story follows one boy in particular, Joe Rantz, whose childhood deprivations rival those of Oliver Twist and who had to resort to some enterprising artful dodging of his own just to stay alive. The nine boys, their brilliant but frustrated coach Al Ulbrickson, and their team guru, renowned boat builder George Pocock, overcome obstacle after obstacle in their quest to represent the U.S. and win gold in the 1936 Berlin Olympics. As the best storytellers do, the author kept me continually on the edge of my seat; just as soon as one incredibly hard challenge- miserable training weather, economic hardships, wily opponents, devious Nazis - is surmounted, another even more daunting one is thrown in their path.Seamlessly juxtaposed with the crew cliffhanger is the story of Hitler's engineering of the 1936 Olympics as a showcase for Nazi Germany, removing all traces of anti-Semitism and presenting Berlin as squeaky-clean and as wholesome as Disneyland. Many light moments are interspersed with the strife and drama. My favorite is an incredible adventure the boys had when they took the coach's launch out onto the Hudson River on an evening before the national championship Poughkeepsie Regatta. I won't spoil it for you here, but what happened to them then could never happen now; it's one of the many unforgettable anecdotes in this book.In fact, many of the elements in this story are incredible. If this had been a work of fiction, I might have found fault with the author for exaggerating at times in order to emphasize a plot point. But in fact, Daniel James Brown did meticulous and exhaustive research, and the events portrayed here are no author's fabrication - it all really happened! Brown's skill in relating this true story to make it seem as if you're reading an enthralling novel, is what elevates "The Boys in the Boat" to the extraordinary level. Don't miss this remarkable, inspiring book!

Each year, our high school assigns a book that all students are required to read over the summer and then they have an assignment related to the book upon returning to school. This was the book chosen last year and I heard good things about it from my daughter and nieces and nephews so I thought I would give it a go.I must say that it started out a bit slowly as a lot of the foundation was being laid and it didn't pull me in immediately like some books do but I stuck with it and I was glad that I did. By the time I was about a third of the way through, I was totally sucked in. It is a book that really has something for everyone -- compelling history (Nazi Germany, 1936 Olympics, the Depression era), athletic training and competition (who knew that the sport of rowing could be so fascinating), and compelling stories of individuals that overcame insurmountable odds. I was truly disappointed to see this book end.

I live in the PNW and for quite some time would pass the UW Shell House on my way to and fro. It sits on the edge of Lake Washington by a road that connects to some walking trails along the lake. Until recently, I've never lived more than 5 miles from it. I never had a clue of the backstory of the building and always kind of associated it with the days that Montlake Bridge would be closed for rowing competitions and boat season opening days. More annoying than anything else. This book totally turned that around and I gained a new understanding and respect for the sport and the UW teams. The book captures both the excitement of success but more than that, it tells the tale of the personal & physical struggles necessary to build an Olympic Gold Medal Team in an engaging and compelling way.We always talk about teamwork in our society. We say things like one star does not make a team when, in fact, s/he sometimes does carry a team to victory. That's not possible to do in crew. An award winning crew truly understands the need for everyone to participate at the top of their game, to keep the egos in check, the body in shape, and the goal forefront in their minds and actions. They cannot win otherwise. This is the story of how the UW Men's Crew overcame Ivy League bias and financial, political, and physical challenges to become that team. It's a quick read, well written and informative. Others will give you details. I encourage you to give it a shot even if you have no interest in the sport or the location. A really good, real life, come from behind, underdog story

This book is worth your time if you're interested in learning bite-sized, intriguing facts about France. I know far more about the country than I did before reading this book.

Bought this for my daughter who teaches french. She's using it in her classroom to give the kids some exposure to interesting french facts. A great tool for that.

Do you love France? Do you think you know France?I do, and I did, until I read this book. I learned so many fun facts in this A to Z of all things France that I'm sure to be heard dropping little facts and figures into conversation for many months to come. This book covers things that are popular in France, things first seen in France, French words found in other languages, French historical facts, French etiquette, famous places and landmarks in France, famous French people, French clothing and perfume, French food, customs and traditions, as well as death, the guillotine and the catacombs of Paris. Phew, now that is a lot of France trivia." There are the fun facts: explaining the April Fish day traditions." The historical facts: what the Revolutionary Calendar was and how it differed from the calendar we know today." The bizarre facts: over half the worlds roundabouts are found in France." The interesting facts: unlimited self-service ketchup has been banned in school canteens since 2011." The Oh My God - really! facts: male impotence was a crime in France in the 16th and 17th centuries and men accused by their wives were required to demonstrate their performance before and expert panel of clergymen and physicians!I'm not sure there is anything about France that isn't covered in this book, as there are even some recipes included too.It really does spread the love for France and would be the perfect gift for the France nerd in your life, and I know because I am a France nerd, who is now a very happy France nerd. Thank you Piu Eatwell.I was sent a copy of this book.

The book is segmented alphabetically. The broad spectrum of stories and facts come from recipes, legends, and historical information.Sample tidbits contained in the book:Miles of catacombs are under the city of Paris. 6 million skeletons reside there. In 2004, police found an entire theatre equipped with seating, 1950s films, a bar, a pressure cooker for making couscous, and modern paintings.Louis XIV had many children from different women. He was fascinated with the birthing process. The old birthing stools concealed the event. Today’s delivery rooms are the direct result. Now you ladies know why. With permission from the President, it is legal to marry a dead person.I had lots of fun sharing the anecdotes with others.

A highly enjoyable, fact-filled book. It is one that you can pick up and read a few entries, then set it aside until you have more time. Broken down alphabetically, it covers SO many subjects. Everything from absinthe (what it is, it's history, and how to prepare it), to wine (descriptions, history, types of wine glasses, and serving it). And much more! Ever wonder if you can get fast food in France (you can)? French perfume? This book will explain it.I could go on and on, but you get the idea. This is a really fun, easily readable book. If you have any desire to visit France, or are just curious, this is a great book for your nightstand!

You do not have to be a Francophile to enjoy this entertainingly delicious and quirky A to Z miscellany of the uniqueness and essence of the French. Fascinating and amusing with so much trivia and genuine information conveyed this is a light and informative read and certainly some of those facts will be remembered. As can be expected much of the content is of a culinary nature but other themes include literature, history, paintings and of course Paris. You do not know what is coming next as you turn the page, one moment you are actually reading the longest sentence in literature composed by Marcel Proust and the next you are reading how to make a Salade Nicole. As you go from one theme to the next you begin to realise the contribution that the French have made.F is for France is a book that can be dipped into and returned to and would be an ideal starting point or accompaniment to further reading. An ideal book for the lovers of all things French or for those with a sense of curiosity.(A copy was provided for review purposes.)

F Is for France: A Curious Cabinet of Frenchby Piu Marie EatwellMy rating: 4 of 5 starsF is for France, A Curious Cabinet of French Wonders by Piu EatwellFirst published June 2016February 2018Book of trivia and miscellany about French culture. Fascinating and fun facts about those little things of which we wonder. Organized neatly in a humorous A to Z format. I have always had an interest in France and enjoyed this book which provided history and explanation for common myths. I learned many new things and history of other trivia.A perfect for the Francophile and those who love trivia.

Somewhat interesting trivia book set under the guise of all things French. Some are interesting; others deserved more of a skimming. Many are things that even the French don't know, like their consumption of garlic compared to that of Korea. There are non-French things like a list of the top ten longest novels of all time (only two were French) and top five most expensive weapons in the world (Napoleon's gold sword was sold at the highest price in an auction, so the author put this at the top of the list). Lots of footnotes.

Though I just started reading this book, it has already helped me in a critical area of my thought life. For some reason, since becoming a Christian in 1994, I just felt wrong about achieving great success. I know it's not taught in the bible, and actually through Steven K. Scott's book, I can see that God DOES desire us to be successful as long as we remember "every good gift comes from above from the Father of Lights- (God)" and as long as the desire doesn't enslave us.An added bonus is because it is wisdom from God (through King Solomon), I can rely on it to be true and worthy of putting my full weight on it. So I am!Thank you Steven Scott for writing this book, Thank you Gary Smalley for suggesting proverbs to Steven and Thank you mostly to God for giving us this wisdom!I haven't had a vision in so long, I feel so energized to just to have one!

I've been through some REAL life changers with my mom dying. Her passing, along with a combination of some other "stuff", made my life a real "jumbled" mess on the interior of my soul. I highly recommend this book for times of extreme "mountains" and "valleys".When the proverbial you-know-what hits the fan, where do you go?Steven Scott is level headed in times of need. He expounds upon all the little "hints" that King Solomon refers to casually. The original Hebrew is not available to most of us, and who is there to teach us?Herein is the gold mine of wisdom! Steven Scott highlights what might otherwise be brushed aside as perhaps coincidental. He does look at the Hebrew meanings and he does expand the thoughts behind what seems to be "casual".Not all of us had parents that paid close attention when we were small, taught us by example, or had time to explain all the "suggestion and innuendos" of life. Most, like me, got up in the morning, were hurried off to the bus stop and at the end of the day ate dinner, went to bed, and that was it, for most of our school days. When we turned 18, most were out the door, waving goodbye over our shoulder.("Write home when you get work....."). Life seems so inadequate at times. They passed down to us what they did and didn't get as THEY grew up. Well, time for a change, maybe? yes? This book is what I wished I had gotten above all the reading, writing, and 'rithmatic. For all the times I wished I had had a different, more informed childhood, this book may make up for all that didn't get said or done, back when it would have counted the most.Reading this book reminds me that it is not too late. and that is SO TRUE! Be encouraged! This book REALLY does teach the stuff that public school never (or rarely) touches, that a bachelor's degree will never afford me, and my pastor or rabbi cannot teach me. Few educational situations is gonna touch this.I have a saying that goes like this: your Rabbi cannot take you some place where he/she have never been themselves. It's not a put down on clergy (at least not in this case), but it's good to recognize that clergy are very often looking for a paycheck and may be at burn out on people's problems, and cannot solve their own issues. and many don't even know what their own issues are; how are they going to help me with mine?Counselors are NOT trained in this stuff, and a Ph.D (in anything) may not accomplish what we thought it was suppose to do when we set out on that particular journey.Adult educational expectations aside, this is the inward workings and dynamics of our very souls, and only ourselves and G-D can really effect those changes; IF we know what is needed. We need answers to questions we often cannot articulate. WHEN we/you/I get to a particular point where we want to do that sort of sifting and changing, THIS BOOK will go in that direction and help you in that next step. It has questions and "tips" at the end of each chapter that are worthy of study, contemplation, and then action.I'm starting a notebook/journal around this. It is FOOD for my soul. I'd love to start a book club around this book alone. No synagogue or church will have this as one of their offerings. For the most part, you won't find someone, (besides King Solomon) that will give you forthright, correct advise(don't misread this as "inflexible", quite the opposite), It will tell you who is a fool and who is wise...That by itself is invaluable. This book will tell you how to recognize a wise man or woman.TOO bad Washington DC doesn't get a hold of this!!! But I recommend this book for EVERY living soul!!If you are a parent, get this and devour it. If you are a grandparent, start a reading time with your grand children around these chapters. If you want some answers and have none, be quick to consider this.If you are incarcerated, GET THIS if you can. If you are just getting out of lock up, or if you are in a 12 step program, this will teach you where nothing else will about staying clean, sober, and ON the wagon!and not returning to the horrid place you just left. and ENJOY!!! You won't get this anywhere else.

Honestly I've been having this book for a long time and have not completed it however what I have read has been amazing lots of good principles I just have to apply them but it did come highly recommended so from what I've read I absolutely recommend this book.

This book contains a wealth of practical tips and strategies for living a happier, more abundant life, and to achieve great success in all areas of your life! I love the way it draws on ancient wisdom from the Bible (specifically, from the Book of Proverbs), and then shows us how we can apply timeless spiritual principles to our everyday life, to live enormously fulfilling, successful, and prosperous lives!

There are many books that we read to become more intelligent, but it is to e we read some books that make us more intelligent and to have more integrity. This are both important in building trusting relationships. A random man in A book store I worked at told me randomly to read a book of proverbs everyday for the rest of my life. Another time, a man told me to read this book and that it was the book that made him rich and that he wouldn't read anything else after. Stop looking at the reviews, this is the book you are looking for. Read it!

This book was an excellent. It teaches you wisdom principles based out of the book of Proverbs located in the Old Testament of the bible. I think what I really enjoyed is that as a Christian, I had a natural example of how the principles helped the author, Steven Scott, AND each situation was supported with scripture. That really ministered to me. I hadn’t realized how much time I WASN’T spending to map out my dreams. He breaks down that Dreams need to be converted into Goals, the goals into Steps and the Steps into Tasks with timelines. I love this book and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a book to help them vision map their life to accomplish their dreams. Believe it or not, this book is also a great book to teach you how to communicate. The section on how to deal with criticism helped me out tremendously. He gave me another view on how to handle it and how to sift through it and find the golden nuggets. All in all, you can’t go wrong with this book. I plan to read his other books as well.

Wonderful revelation, and so much truth in this book about how Solomon’s path to wealth, success and happiness is spelled out in the Proverbs. Steven Scott guides us through the different Proverbs, putting meat on the bones that Solomon left behind. There are too many “aha” moments in this book to mention. Hard to put down once you begin reading it.
