This has been a great read. Is interesting to read the early history of Kirkland and the surrounding area's from incorporation up till the 40's.
I've been waiting a long time for this to come out and it does not disappoint! Plenty of not-widely-seen-before photos along with interesting brief stories.
McCauley has spent a lot of time researching stories worth telling and finding images to communicate them visually. I really appreciated the detailed captions that point out important items, often in the background. Many of the photos I had never seen before and provide an amazing picture of just how different Kirkland was in the early days. This book is especially valuable now, with the pace of change accelerating and Kirkland changing so much every year.
I have McCauley's previous book on Kirkland, which includes some information about my great-grandfather. Disappointed to see he has misspelled our family's name this time around (he got it right last time, even if his indexer didn't).Still, if you have any interest in the history of Kirkland, this should be worth reading.
